Battalion Wars 2 is an RTS Action game for the Wii. Like is predecessor you take command of a handful of units and must take on your enemies and destroy them to achieve victory. The story is a continuation of BW1 for the gamecube.

Control is a big part of this game, as it offers an unique experience I have yet to come across, even on the Wii. Most commands are issued with a combination of the A button and D-pad such as attack, follow, wait, etc. The motion sensor also allows you to find and switch what unit you control in the middle of a fight, along with providing what I find to be a very accurate crosshair. The only problem I came across with controls was some of the planes that could barrel roll, speed up/down, and do other special maneuvers.

One part of this game that isn't the best is graphics. However if you're like me, you'll hardly notice that, and come to enjoy the graphic style of BW2 since the gameplay is amazing. The game is in no way the most graphically powerful one of the console, but it's not the worst either. It provides detailed, yet simplistic environments that somewhat remind me of an upgraded Wind Waker. Although I must also note, that every plane, every tank, and every type of infantry unit has its own unique model and even varies with faction.

The game play for BW2 is what I love the most. Offering a RTS type game, but keeping it more action-based, not the amount of buildings you have. Of course buildings help, providing you with more units and faster reinforcements. Containing land, air, and sea vehicles and land infantry there are many ways to go about each mission. You can strike from a bomber plane or use a mortar at long range. More into close range combat? Try the Flame Veteran and his flame thrower to take out enemy infantry. Not only are you given a variety of units, but each has it's own strength and weaknesses, and to beat this game you will have to learn to play them all.
